What we do
The everyday plumbing jobs that come up across Dover: pre-1919 period pipework in the older streets, post-war stock from the rebuild years, and new-build snagging out at Whitfield's Connaught Barracks.
Dripping joints, weeping compression fittings, pinhole leaks in copper pipe, leaking under-sink traps. Traced and fixed properly. Call-out £95 (first hour included), £45/hour after.
Leak repairs scopeBlocked sinks, baths, showers and toilets. Rod, plunge or jet as the job needs. Standard blockage clear £70 to £150 depending on access and severity.
Blocked drains and toilets scopeDripping taps, seized isolation valves, stopcock replacement, outside tap fitting. Standard tap replacement £70 to £120.
Taps and valves scopeRunning loo, weak flush, wobbly pan, cistern fittings, full toilet replacement. One of the most common call-outs on the books.
Toilets and cisterns scopeBasin, bath, shower tray and toilet fitting and replacement, including pipework and waste runs. Full quote after a look at the room.
Bathroom fitting scopeLow pressure, airlocks, immersion heater faults, hot water cylinder issues, and boiler work.
Water pressure and hot water scopeBoiler service, repair and installation, gas safety (CP12) landlord certificates, gas appliance work.
Boiler and gas safety scopeWashing machine and dishwasher plumbing-in, hose replacement, waste connection. Standard appliance connection £70 to £120.
Appliance plumbing scopeBurst pipe, fast-running leak, no water at all, no heating. Same-day priority. Emergency, out-of-hours and weekend call-out £120. No fix, no fee applies to emergency call-outs too.
Emergency call-out scopeWhy local matters
About a quarter of Dover's housing predates 1919, solid brick walls and period details that tell their own story once you are inside the wall cavity. Another chunk, around 35%, is post-war stock built between 1945 and 1980, when Dover was rebuilt after wartime damage. Two very different jobs turn up on the same street some weeks.
Take a call we get often enough to be a pattern rather than a one-off: an older CT17 town-centre terrace, a slow drip that has been ignored for months because nothing was visibly wrong, until a patch of damp finally shows on a ceiling below. The leak itself is rarely dramatic, a weeping joint on an old supply run, but by the time it is visible the water has usually tracked along a joist for a metre or more before finding its way down. Tracing it properly, back along the actual pipe run rather than cutting in below the stain, is what turns a one-visit fix into one instead of three.
Out at Whitfield, the story is the opposite: new-build snagging on the Connaught Barracks development, where the pipework is modern and the job is usually a fitting that was never quite torqued right rather than anything structural. Same trade, same honest price, very different starting point.
Landlords & holiday-let owners
WhatsApp us the problem with photos, we quote back the same day, book the visit, and send completion photos when it's done. Useful if you are not local, or the property is between guests and needs fixing before the next check-in.
What you get, every visit
If the finished work is not what we quoted and we cannot make it right, you do not pay. No fine print, no arbitration. That is the promise.
Photos and a description are usually enough for a fixed quote or a tight banded price. If the job turns out different once we open it up, we tell you before we press on. No day-rate creep, no surprise invoices.
Every job leaves you with a photo record of the finished work. Useful for landlords who were not on site.
